April 29, 2021
It is recommended that before you finalise any investment decision you should go through all the available options carefully, consider the risks involved and the amount of return that you are aiming for through your investment strategy.
Given below are some of the best investment plans with high returns in India:
Low-Risk Investment
- PPF or Public Provident Fund: You can opt for PPT and open an account at a post office or a bank for a period of 15-20 years with a minimum contribution of Rs 500 and a maximum of 1.5 lakh per annum.
- Fixed Deposits: FD has a 5 year lock-in period. They assure you principal amount along with interest at deposited rates. Tax-saving FD can help save taxes however the interest earned is taxable.
- Post-Office Monthly Income Scheme: It is a monthly saving scheme that is regulated by Post Offices in India where you can open an account at a minimum amount of Rs 1500 with a maturity period of 5 years.
- National Savings Certificate: This scheme offers assured returns and tax benefits and comes with a tenure of 5 years. You can opt for this scheme at any post office and invest at an interest rate of around 8% compound P.A. which is determined by the Government of India every quarter.
High-Risk Investment
- Unit Linked Insurance Plan (ULIP): ULIP has the dual benefit of life insurance and market-related investment. It comes with a lock-in period of 3-5 years and assures tax benefits. It also offers different fund options based on your risk appetite.
- Debt/Equity Mutual Fund: if you are looking for a steady ROI then this is one of the best investment plans because they invest in fixed income instruments like government securities, debt or fixed deposits and market tools. They have limited risk, they are also less volatile and guarantee higher returns. The equity mutual funds invest at least 65% of their funds in equity and 35% are invested in debt & money market instruments. Although they involve high risk it gives investors the flexibility along with high-reward/return investment choice.
Moderate Risk Investment
- Monthly Income Plans (MIPs): You will earn a regular payout for every payment after paying your premium for a few years. Here at least 70% fund is invested in debt funds and the balance is invested in stocks.
- Hybrid-Debt Oriented Funds: The objective is to appreciate your income by investing in debt securities and money market instruments with moderate exposure to equities.
Arbitrage Funds: This is a type of mutual fund for investors who would like to take advantage of volatile markets without taking much risk.
